Joe Hernandez

Joe was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. He graduated from North Texas State University in Denton, Texas, with a B.S. degree in 1983 and from Santa Clara University School of Law in Santa Clara, California with a J.D. degree in 1988.

Following graduation, Joe served one a year as the briefing attorney for U.S. Magistrate William Mallet in McAllen, Texas. He then moved to San Antonio, Texas, where he practiced civil litigation defense for 12 years; two years with Groce, Locke and Hebdon and ten years with Ball & Weed, P.C., where he became a partner in the firm. Joe has handled litigation involving governmental entities, medical malpractice, product liability, oil and gas, employment, premises liability, and general negligence.

He is licensed to practice in all courts in the State of Texas and is admitted to practice before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Western, and Eastern Districts of Texas.
